Whether you're looking to improve your skiing, snowboarding or telemark skills, our coaches will customize each run to improve your style, confidence and proficiency.

Customized Private Lessons

Whether you are just starting out or want to perfect your turns, private lessons are the perfect choice. Up to six people of the same discipline and similar ability will receive one-on-one coaching from a Loon Mountain Ski and Snowboard School instructor.

Private lessons are available for all skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels, starting at age 3. (Due to the nature of snowboarding, snowboard lessons begin at age 4.) Grab your equipment and join an instructor for one to six hours. Check out our specialty privates below.

45-Minute Children's Private

A specially-trained children's instructor will teach your child one-on-one for 45 minutes. The 45-minute private is perfect for children ages 3 to 7 who want to learn to ski, and children 4 to 7 who want to learn to snowboard.

Specialty Privates

Want to learn to grind a rail, hone your race technique, or try telemark skiing? A private lesson is the perfect combination of learning, instructor experience, and support to help you achieve your goals and excel at your favorite snowsport. Park and Pipe, race, telemark and other specialty lessons are available on a limited basis. Call or stop at any of our Snowsports desks to see if we can accommodate your request.

Had a great lesson with an instructor already? Be sure you let the representative know you want another lesson with him or her. We try our best to honor all requests.

Loon Mountain Ski and Snowboard School offers private lessons from one hour to six hours. Advance reservations can be made for private lessons of 3 or more hours. One- and two-hour private lessons are reserved only on day of your lesson, on a first-come, first-served basis. Private lesson availability is limited and reservations are required. Call or stop at any of our Snowsports desks to reserve your lessons.

First Tracks

Close your eyes. Now imagine: it's 7:15am, you're standing on top of the mountain, it's quiet, just a few people, and no tracks. Open your eyes...this could be you. Grab your coffee and head to the gondola for your 7:00am First Tracks private lesson.

One-hour to six-hour lessons available Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays on a first-come, first-served basis. There are a limited number of First Tracks privates available each day, so book yours now.

First Tracks privates are for skiers and riders of intermediate to advanced ability, and must be booked no later than 12:00pm the day prior to your desired lesson.

2008-09 Price:

$100, plus the price of your private lesson (see pricing above)

Cancellation Policy

Private and semi-private lesson reservations must be cancelled at least 48 hrs before the scheduled lesson time. If the reservation is not cancelled 48 hrs in advance, the credit card on file will be charged for the full amount of the lesson and the guest will be able to apply this amount to a future lesson. If the reservation is not cancelled prior to the lesson time, the guest will be charged the full amount with no future credit given.
